| Comment | Dear CARB and Governor Schwarzenegger:
Considering CARB's role in killing the electric car thanks to its
ill-fated support of hydrogen technology, which has yet to
materialize, over plug-in electric cars, it is exceedingly
important for CARB not to repeat that mistake with its upcoming
rulings. Both plug-in hybrid and full electric vehicles should be
supported by the upcoming rules. These technologies should not be
pitted against each other.
Please follow the stated goals of Plug-In American and
CalCars.org:
* Require the full 25,000 ZEVs that automakers had promised for
2012-2014
* Create a separate requirement for plug-in hybrids that lets them
replace the dirtiest vehicles in CARB's regulations, rather than
the cleanest ZEVs
* Incentivize plug-in hybrids that have the most on-board
electricity storage
Thank you very much for the opportunity to comment.
