Dear Chair Nichols and Air Resource Board Members,

Thank you for all your hard work in the implementation of SB 375.
I believe that by the appropriate enforcement of this law, we will
see a reduction in greenhouse gas(GHG) emissions and more
sustainable communities and transportation choices.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, transportation is the single largest
source of GHG emissions. Hence, addressing these emissions is
essential. SB 375 and your actions are essential if we want to
achieve significant emission reductions and have our region and
state step up to the climate change/ clean energy challenge.

As a person who values walkable and bikeable communities,
accessible alternative transportation, and clean air, I urge you to
adopt only GHG emission reduction targets that are ambitious and
achievable. Having convenient, frequent, and adequately funded
public transportation choices such as Caltrain and walkable
communities is very important to me.

These things can easily be achieved through compact community
planning and affordable housing close to work, school, community
centers, and public transportation arteries.

In your upcoming meeting, please vote for ambitious GHG emission
reduction targets, and achievable sustainable community plans.
Thank you for all your hard work and for the opportunity to submit
my comments.

Sincerely,
Julio Magalhaes
