Subject | SB375 enforcement |
Comment | Dear Chair Nichols and Air Resource Board Members, Thank you for your hard work in the implementation of SB375. I believe that by the appropriate enforcement of this law, we will see a reduction in greenhouse gas emission and more sustainable communities and transportation choices. As a person who bikes to work an 18 mile RT commute, rides to most appointments, and bikes for most shopping, I do value walkable and bikeable communities, accessible alternative transportation, and clean air. I urge you to adopt only GHG emission reduction targets that are ambitious and achievable. It would be a joy for me to know that the children of our community will have a better future and cleaner air to breathe now because these goals are achieved sooner than later. I think these goals can be attained through compact community planning and affordable housing close to work, school and community centers. In your upcoming meeting please vote for ambitious GHG emission reduction targets and achievable sustainable community plans that have the foresight to benefit present and future generations. Again, thank you for your tenacity and effort on this issue and for the opportunity to submit my comments. Sincerely, Catherine Whiteside |
