Subject | Funding for Biofuel Oasis |
Comment | To whom it may concern, Thank you for offering grant money to fund biofuel projects in the state of California. As you know, biofuels will help reduce pollution and greenhouse gasses, and also our dependence on foreign oil. I would like to comment specifically on the Biofuel Oasis, in Berkeley, CA. The Oasis has been selling biodiesel for the past three years, in a very confined space. I am a Photovoltaic Project Manager for Sun, Light and Power, Co, also in Berkeley. We have been running our fleet of diesel trucks on biodiesel also for the past three years. We currently have 10 trucks using biodiesel; we use approximately 600 gallons per month. This usage of biodiesel obviously reduces the use of petroleum based diesel, thus reducing carbon dioxide/greenhouse gas emissions and particulates, which means cleaner air and less global warming. The Oasis' new proposed location is located on a corner very close to the I-80 corridor, making it much more accessible for Bay Area residents and those passing through to fill-up on non-petroleum based fuel. This sight will give biofuels much more visibilty to a public who wants more choices when it comes to fueling up. Please consider the Biofuel Oasis and their grant application when deciding on allocation of funds. Sincerely, Roger Williams PV Project manager Sun, Light, and Power, Co. Berkeley, Ca |
