Biodiesel is an excellent alternative to petrol-diesel, but it is
very difficult to find in the San Francisco Bay Area.  BioFuel
Oasis is a reliable supplier that has made biodiesel available in
Berkeley for over 3 years and is the only place to buy biodiesel
at a public pump in the Bay Area.  A new fueling location will
allow BioFuel Oasis to increase their operating hours and help to
make the purchase of biodiesel available to more people in the Bay
Area and to those traveling on the I-80 corridor.  

BioFuel Oasis is a small, women-owned Berkeley business that puts
a top priority on helping the local and state communities.  They
get the majority of their biodiesel from California suppliers and
contribute to local activities which help to keep the California
economy strong.  In fact, for the past year, all of the biodiesel
they have sold has been made in California from recycled vegetable
oil. 

Because the use of biodiesel produces less carbon
dioxide/greenhouse gas emissions and lower particulates, an
increase in availability could result in cleaner air and less
global warming.

Please approve grant funding to BioFuel Oasis to help them grow
their business and make biodiesel available to more Californians. 
The services provided by BioFuel Oasis are good for the entire San
Francisco Bay Area, good for California, and good for the global
environment.
