To Whom it Concerns:

I'm writing to add my support for funding Berkeley's BioFuel
Oasis. I bought a diesel car one year ago specifically to run on
biodiesel because its use means lower carbon dioxide & greenhouse
gas emissions and fewer particulates, which means cleaner air and
less global warming. 

One of the things that made my decision to switch easier was that
we have the BioFuel Oasis here in Berkeley. It's the only place to
buy biodiesel at a public pump in the Bay Area. I don't think I
would have made the step to getting my car if it weren't for
them.

While I don't mind making a special trip at strange hours to an
odd pumping station, I can imagine for many people who would love
to drive on biodiesel this would be a hurdle. The new location
will make biodiesel much more accessible, not only to the Bay
Area, but to travelers on the busy I-80 corridor.
 
The BioFuel Oasis is also a small, locally-owned and women-owned
business. They strive to get biodiesel made as locally as possible
from recycled vegetable oil. (For the past year, all the biodiesel
we've sold has been made in California from recycled vegetable
oil.) All this means is that not only does the environment some
out ahead, but so does our local economy.
