Hello,

I write this comment to request that you do whatever is necessary
to move forward with allocation of funding for biodiesel in
Berkeley and an Francisco.

The carbon footprint of biodiesel is smaller than any other fuel
used in automobiles (see Harvard and Shell study). The use of
biodiesel translates into lower carbon dioxide/greenhouse gas
emissions and lower particulates, which means cleaner air and less
global warming. In addition, biodiesel can be made locally, keeping
dollars in the community, state, and country ---reducing not adding
to the trade deficit.

Unfortunately biodiesel is difficult to find. Between San
Francisco and Martinez, there is only one biodiesel retailer,
BioFules Oasis in Berkeley.

BioFuel Oasis has been supplying my biodiesel for over a year. It
is the only place to buy biodiesel at a public pump in the Bay
Area. They are trying to expand to a new location that will make
biodiesel much more accessible, not only to the Bay Area, but to
travelers on the busy I-80 corridor. There will be 24/7 pumps
unike the current situation that allows business hours of 4-8pm
weekdays and 9-5pm on weekends. BioFuel Oasis is a small,
locally-owned and women-owned business with the money staying in
the state and local community.

In San Francisco there is a biodiesel co-op with limited hours.

I strongly urge you to seed the Bay Area with funding for
biodiesel as soon as possible. Availability of biodiesel in
southern Marin County, Berkeley, San Francisco, the peninsula and
San Jose will make the economy stronger, the air cleaner, and the
trade deficit smaller!

THank you,

Sean Scullion
