Subject | Please allocate funds to BioFuel Oasis |
Comment | I am a Bay Area resident, and the BioFuel Oasis is my only source for biodiesel and has been for 2 years. I own 2 diesel vehicles: 1981 300D Mercedes benz 1978 VW rabbit I consume approximately 80 gallons of biodiesel per month--all fuel from the oasis. I firmly believe that Biodeisel is an absolutely crucial fuel source for the intermediary period between petroleum dependence and petroleum independence. Ethanol fuels are also important--however, ethanol fuels are made from valuable raw materials. Bio-diesel is made from waste vegetable oil, a waste product, and is therefore more efficiently reducing the amount of carbon being released into the atmosphere by using a material that would otherwise be thrown away, rather than relying on production of new raw materials. If the 10 fueling stations that you have decided to fund are all ethanol, then you are making the mistake of eliminating diversity. It is crucial to support a diversity of intermediary technologies during this time of transition to best meet the needs of a diverse population. |
