| Comment | Dear CARB Board, My name is Kenya Sevilla and I am the San Diego Promise Neighborhood Supervisor at Casa Familiar. I am to express my support and the dire need for San Diego's International Border Communities to be selected for this round of AB617 communities. San Ysidro is greatly impacted by high pollution levels and should be selected as an AB617 community. As a community organizer, residents are constantly mentioning how the high levels of pollution have impacted their children academic performance. When inhaled, the smog irritates our airways and increases the risk of heart and lung disease. These health risks are one of the reasons for chronic absenteeism in the San Ysidro School District. In order to have healthier children, we need to be selected as an AB617 Community and prioritize their health. |
