Hi good day. I've been driving at the ports of Long Beach and
Los Angeles for 25 years always followed the rules, paid my taxes
and so on. This law Clean truck program is going to affect in a bad
way alot of good truck drivers from the ports of Long Beach
and Los Angeles. Why we make roughly around $125,000. a year, new
trucks cost $450,000.+ out the door. The power on these truck is a
joke you can't even haul a load of 75,000 GVW. You'll see all these
propane trucks broken down all the time. And the electric trucks
all they give is 200 miles tops. A load from the ports to San
Bernardino round trip is 100 miles after that what am I going to
do??? Go home..... when I'm use to putting 300 miles a day on my
truck.. I haul overweight loads from the ports on the
corridor those loads weigh GVW at 95,000 pounds. All those new
trucks don't work for those type of loads. I'll be willing do a
challenge to try a new truck with anyone from the CALIFORNIA AIR
RESOURCE BOARD MEMBER to try a truck and but it to the test. I'm
trying to buy a house on 2023, I won't be able with the prices the
new trucks are going for!!! I can't buy a house if I'm financing a
new truck!!!...I'm telling you guys this program is going g to slap
every single owner operator from the ports that is trying to make a
living out of hauling from the ports... thank you very much.
