Dear
California Air Resources Board,
Thank you
for the opportunity to comment on the proposed Advanced Clean Cars
II regulations. Please see two points below.
1. CARB
should require automakers to reach a target of 75%
of their new vehicles being zero-emission in 2030, in order to
maximize pollution reductions and the number of clean cars in the
market;
2. I also
ask that you include strong equity and justice
standards that ensure that automakers increase affordability and
access to ZEVs for vulnerable communities, which consistently face
the worst impacts of air pollution and climate
change.
By codifying these changes, you will
help advance public health, environmental justice, and climate
change mitigation efforts in a way that our new reality
requires.
Thank you,
Sam Miyamoto, MPH
