My Name is Elease Stemp and I am a L.A. resident, mom and a member
of the Northeast LA Climate Collective, who support the Advanced
Clean Truck rule. I support this rule because I want to breathe
clean air. I want my child and family and friends and neighbors to
breathe clean air, locally and nationally. Regardless of the
reduced traffic during the shelter-at-home order, the air quality
in southern California has not significantly improved because the
trucks and delivery vans between our ports and warehouses in the
Inland Empire continue to traverse our freeways and communities,
which causes most of the air pollution in Southern California in
the transportation sector, that disproportionately affect low
income and communities of color, many of which are located along
these travel corridors. Simply, trucking electrification has to
happen so that our air gets cleaner and greenhouse gasses are
reduced in our atmosphere, as this is something we have the tech to
change right now. I urge the CARB board to vote YES for the
Advanced Clean Truck rule. Thank you for working towards cleaner
air.
