Dear CARB Members, I am writing to support the proposed Advanced
Clean Trucks Regulation. Electrifying our truck fleet as soon as
possible is important for many reasons, air pollution and impacts
to climate are the top two.

My family lives near two freeways, in an urban area within the LA
Basin. As long as our truck and vehicles continue to pollute the
air, even with the major strides our city and local homeowners are
taking to green our electric grid, we will still be grappling with
some of the worst air quality in this country that contributes to
climate change and host of respiratory issues. We reside in the LA
basin - in Glendale, CA, next to the 5 and 134 freeways. This area
holds bad air, which gets worse as temps heat up, and is at the top
of the list re: VOCs, NO2 and particulate matter. IF both long haul
truckers and local delivery trucks (along with our city fleet) make
this transition to clean energy, we will see a profound change
here, for the better, to our air quality.

I appreciate the many bridges (incentives, extended timeline) being
made available to the trucking companies to make this conversion
financially possible for them. I think offering needed support to
their critical industry is a big part of making this plan
successful. Hopefully charging infrastructure for those big hauling
companies can be included in your discussion.

Thank you and I hope you will pass this historic regulation so that
other states in our country can once again follow California's
lead.

Best wishes,
Monica Campagna
