Trucks that are not electric or hydrogen fuel cell are causing
cancer by their large emissions of criteria pollutants. This
carnage needs to stop, ASAP. A Road Use Charge (RUC) system is
needed ASAP. We drivers need to cover all the costs of driving,
including the environmental costs and the health costs. Please push
hard for legislation to get a good RUC system specified, designed,
and installed. SB 1077 proved feasibility.   

We also need trucks to emit greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at a
level that will achieve climate-stabilizing targets; which are, for
the developed countries of the world, 80% below 1990 levels by
2030. "2030" is not a typo. Don't blame me. The climate scientists
are just doing their job and that is what they are saying, as near
as I can tell. Physics is not driven by our state mandates. Physics
has its own laws and they are the laws that matter. S-3-05 was the
best we knew back in 2005. We know better now.

Please get to work for the sake of life on the planet, including my
grandchildren and all grandchildren.
