Comment | As an avid fisherman, I do not want to see these new CARB emissions laws passed. I feel they will unfairly ruin the sport fishing fleet. I am a veteran and have children in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. We rely on these local San Diego boats for outings multiple times a year. With the cost of everything increasing at an insane pace, we will be unable to continue to afford these outings if the fleet has to significantly increase their prices to afford a retrofit engine or a new vessel. I am all for a cleaner environment, but sometimes I think these laws are not thought through. How harmful will it be to the environment to have to scrap all of these engines and large vessels and then turn around and have to completely manufacture new engines and vessels? What about all of the small operations that will be unable to afford the upgrade? Please rethink passing these new laws and work with the fleet to come up with a better solution. Thanks for your time, Donald LeMasters |
