Dear Sirs,

I am writing to suggest a compromise in your effort to have clean
air and water without ruining a beloved pastime of mine for 40
years.(Sportfishing off the CA Coast)

I propose a plan to phase out older, inefficient engines over a 20
year period. This will allow time for a new, cost effective type of
engine to be built and tested. If you try to mandate something
sooner, you will cause damage to the investment many of these boat
operations have made, it could also cause a safety hazard if these
engines are not tested beforehand. I am a Navy veteran and have
spent many years on US Naval vessels, we still had problems and
fires aboard these modern vessels, the same will happen if
sufficient time is not permitted.   Respectfully  Patrick Gee
