I was born in East LA and grew up and rough neighbourhoods. I was
an only child to an immigrant mother and father my dad sister had
five boys and what kept me from getting into gangs getting pregnant
and getting killed was my love for fishing. I will work odd jobs,
Mow the grass, paint rocks and do whatever it took to save up money
so that I can get to long beach and go out on a day trip to catch
some yellowtail. If the fleet has to change out their boats to
comply with new regulations there would Be no way for people like
me to be able to afford fishing tickets as it is the prices are
pretty high. I take other girls fishing every chance I get so that
I can transfer my love of the sport to them. And imagine what what
my life would be like without this sport. Please do something about
this it's not a joke it's a place of reprieve in a place where we
have safety and sanctuary from then sanity of the hood. Now I don't
live in the head anymore, but I also don't forget where I came from
or the things that kept me from going down the wrong pathways.
Cooper says that on a daily basis you could should commune with
nature. There's no better way to commune with nature than being out
on the water.
