Hello,  I am a mother of 3 young men.  Two of my boys fell in love
with fishing on sportfishing boats at a young age.  In fact, they
loved it so much that they both have worked on sportfishing boats
in the summers.  My youngest has worked on a boat for 4 years as a
pinhead and a deckhand. It is where he realized that he wants a
career on the water, not owning his own sport fishing boat but in
marine transportation.  While I am a big believer in climate change
and having regulations that will promote the use of cleaner
transportation, I do not believe in this regulation because it is
too harsh and will wipe out a whole industry.  Many people rely on
these boats for income (like my children), for food and for
memories.  It's my understanding that if the owners were allowed to
make changes over a longer period of time, they would be able to
stay in business and then our community (San Diego) will not be as
negatively effected.
