My Dad first took me fishing on the local half day boats out of
Long Beach, Redondo Beach and San Diego at the age of 8. I caught
the bug and 50 years later, I am doing the same with my son and
daughter ages 15 and 17. 

The new engine regulations proposed by the Newsom Administration
are likely to put many of these boat operators out of business or
contribute such price increases as to make it impossible to get out
on the water due to the significant price increase.

The California Air Resources Board admits the proposed regulations
will likely remove passenger boats made of wood and fiberglass from
service which is 80% of all boats! Businesses in California are
struggling - with the large case examples of Tesla, Apple, Oracle,
Nestle and Hewlett Packard moving their headquarters out of
California. Add to that the 1000s of small businesses that have
permanently closed. When will you give our California business
people a break? They need and deserve it.

I have had a life long love affair with the ocean and want to pass
that along with my family. Please do not pass this legislation for
the good of all of us families who have a passion for the sea.
