| Comment | Just a message of support for sport fishing and whale watching boats off the California coast, from a lifelong fisherman. I am also a conservationist, and believe we need better air standards. But targeting the relatively few passenger vessels of this sort still working the California coast is misguided. There are fewer and fewer ways for people to experience the "real" outdoors these days, and a morning on a charter can create lifelong memories. It can also spark an appreciation for the very thing you're trying to attain: a cleaner environment. It may seem ironic and I suppose it is, but that doesn't lessen the value. |
