It's a little silly to think that the California Air Resources
Board is adamant about implementing Commercial Harbor Craft
Regulation's that would cripple an industry that operates along the
entire coastline of our state. Such regulations will stifle growth
in a business sector where families out number corporations;
ultimately hurting the generational citizens of your very state.
Please save the environmental argument because you have none ... A
wonderful example of this occurred this past weekend, October 3rd,
2021: Newport Beach / Huntington Beach Oil spill. Our beaches are
covered in oil, irreversible damage to our local marine habitat,
and 165K gallons of oil just dumped all over us ... but commercial
harbor crafts are the issue? What about the thousands of oil
drilling platforms 'ON' and 'OFF'shore along the California
coastline? What about the hundreds of tankers sitting off our
coastline, piling up while we wait for a truck driver shortage to
resolve itself? I would take a step back a look at the bigger
picture ... get rid of your microscope and focus on the real
issues. Issues that do not negatively affect the families and
residents of California. It is not to say that I do not agree with
your overall mission to reduce emissions (like what I did there!);
but I do believe it is being executed in an ill-informed and unfair
manner. We both know you have a bigger fishes to fry, so please
take it upon yourself to reflect on your position and ask yourself:
"Is the best solution to reach your intended goal and did I do my
best work before presenting it the the people of California?"
