If this bill to increase emissions standard's for vessels is to
pass. Not only will it put alot of said vessels out of comission
but will also grately hurt and devastate a 4 billion dollar
industry. The price of fishing will increase dramatically and a lot
of people will stop said act, sport, hobby, or career indefinitely.
Further increasing the cost of fish in our local grocery stores
hurting alot more people in the process. Supply and demand. The
demand will always be their. It is the supply that will be hurt.
Comercial fisherman will not be able to keep up and will charge
more for what little they can provide. It has show once before with
dpf systems in the trucking industry. As far as the emissions stand
point on said vessels. The amount of pollution to the amount of
time they spend out in use don't out weigh the cost and funding it
will take to accomplish this feat. It is simply not worth taking it
from a tier 3 emission system/engine to a tier 4. Keep our boats on
the waters. No more emission standards.
