Regarding: the California Air Resources Board (CARB) proposed
regulations to reduce emissions from engines on ALL harbor
craft vessels by January 2023.

Please consider the negative effect that this will have if passed.
Considering that there are other alternatives this regulation
should not be allowed to pass.

My family is has five generations, the first four all love and
enjoy sportfishing. If this passed my grandchildren, the fifth of
the generations will never have the opportunity to experience the
excitement and joy that the others have.

But even on a larger scale how about the whale watching, kids
science trip. A survey of sportfishing boat owners concluded that
if the regulations are adopted California's sportfishing fleet
would be non-existent within the next 3-6 years, denying millions
of California families and tourists' access to recreational
fishing, whale watching, diving, and ocean educational activities.

And, what about the tackle industry, marine stores, clothing gear,
the list goes on and on.

At a time like this, this is not the time to kill a industry and
jobs.

Thanks Much,
Ray Smith
