To Whom It May Concern:

I liege you to reconsider the new Sportfishing boat regulations on
engines. As someone that grew up on these sport boats, losing them
would be like losing part of who I am. These boats link people from
all ages, races, religions, and political affiliations. The vast
majority are family owned and operated. Forcing old boats to
upgrade engines with the technology discussed would prove far too
expensive for many owner-operators to stay in business. Many are
still recovering from the covid pandemic. Please keep the current
regulations in place until this technology is more common and
readily available. I pride myself on eating the fish I catch on
these boats throughout the year. Closing this resource would force
a good amount of the population to rely on the commercial fishing
vessels that have proved so devastating. Thank you for reading
