What are you thinking? This new bill for emissions will kill the
sportfishing and boating industry. I will cause marinas to close
down. Thousands of recreational, commercial and gov vessels all
along the California  coast will need to be repowered. There aren't
any lifeguard, coastguard, military or sherriff boats that wouldn't
need the repower. Non are compliant to what the bill requires at
this time. Who will pay for all that? All the recreational boats,
power and sail, would need new motor. Who will pay for that? Even
boats that were recently repowered through the Carl Moyer Program
would again need to be repowered. So that was a big waste of tax
payer funds?
Moving forward for all new vessels is understandable. Refitting all
older vessels is a disaster about to happen. This bill will have
long reaching adverse side effects that will cause unemployment in
the fishing industry and permanently shut down many small
businesses that play an intricate role in the recreational fishing
community. 
Like thousands of other californians I am a current boat owner. If
this bill passes I will need to scrap my $60,000 boat. I could not
afford to install new motors. No slip needed, no maintenance
needed, and I would lose all the value of my boat to nothing. There
would be thousands of other right behind me abandoning their boats.
This bill is completely irresponsible. Please ammend or stop this
bill asap
