| Comment | To whom it may concern I would like to express my thoughts regarding the new legislation from the Newsom administration that specifically targets the sport fishing industry. The new proposals and marine motor requirements are very unfair and will cause a great deal of suffering and hardship to small businesses owners and families who rely on these boats. The industry will suffer because the new laws will put many boat owners out of business and the ones that do survive will be forced to charge higher prices that families and children will no longer be able to afford. Please consider making reasonable adjustments and waivers that will allow all boat owners to remain in business. Affordable Sport fishing, diving and whale watching provides healthy alternatives to kids and helps to prevent criminal behaviors and gang recruitment. I can personally attest to that as sport fishing helped save me from drugs and crime when I was a teenager in the 80's. So please consider this and make the fair and reasonable amendments to the new laws. Sincerely Paul West |
