Subject | Harbor Craft Regulation |
Comment | These proposed regulations would cripple an industry that brings millions of dollars into the local community. These regulations would require sportfishing boats to be completely rebuilt, which is economically unfeasible. Not only is the material not available to build these 50-year-old boats, to support these tier 4 engines, but a new vessel would also cost an insane amount of money that these small businesses just don't have. Not only would the 4 major sportfishing landings that have 100s of boats that fish every day out of business, but it would also cripple the local community. The San Diego sportfishing supports everything from restaurants, hotels, the tackle industry, food service industry indirectly. Not to mention the thousands of people that work directly at the landings and the boats. |
