I am a retired police officer of 32 years of service.  Unlike many
retirees that I know who have fled this state, I have stayed in
California mostly because of the wonderful fishing I do as a hobby.
 I mostly fish on overnight to 2 day fishing boats for the best
offshore fishing in the US.  I frequent Fishermans Landing, H&M
Landing, Point Loma Landing and Seaforth out of San Diego.  Closer
to home I also frequent Newport, Long Beach, 22nd Street and Oxnard
(Cisco's) Landings.  I fish on these boats at least twice a month
and supply my family, friends and neighbors with fresh fish.  My
father and grandfather taught me how to fish and took me out on
boats since I was 3 years old.  I have passed on this tradition of
love for the ocean to my three kids who are adults and avid
fisherman now.  We all purchase fishing licenses every year and
frequent all the local establishments including restaurants, gas
stations, grocery stores, etc, along the coastline when we prepare
to go out on our fishing charters.  We frequent all the tackle
shops and sporting good stores purchasing gear for our specialized
fishing trips throughout the year.
My fellow anglers and family are worried about any new restrictions
on our gracious boat owners who are already making sacrifices to
make ends meet and to safely serve all the anglers that board them
on a regular basis.  There are literally thousands of anglers
boarding these boats daily that will oppose any new restrictions on
our boat owners!  Please reconsider any future restrictions!
