Comment | Hello, I am a Arizona resident now who grew up in Los Angeles, and have been a salt water sportfisherman my entire life. I, like many other out of state fisherman travel to CA for just that reason. I typically spend about $800 per trip which includes food, lodging, fuel and fishing trip costs to do so, and if I travel with my family, that costs doubles or triples depending on our length of stay and agenda... If the cost of the actual fishing trip were to double or triple due to the expenses the Boat owners would have to pass on to myself to cover the cost of an engine "retrofit", I along with many other non-resident fisherman would not be able to afford to come and enjoy the resource. Is it worth the loss of additional Tax Revenue that's generated by Visitors?? Will it be worth it to the Hospitality industry and the Small businesses that we patronize when we visit the State?? I understand the premise you are working towards.. but putting it all on one small group of business owners, Sportboat Owner's, is not fair or just to many others that will be affected, both young and old. |
