Subject | Proposed regulations to passenger boats in California |
Comment | Please CARB members considering new proposed regulations on passenger boats keep in mind all the livelihoods that are directly and indirectly affected by these proposed changes. The economic toll will be devastating for many coastal communities which benefit greatly from the money spent in order to enjoy the ocean and all of the interesting natural wonders associated with it. I'll admit that I am an avid fisherman, but it is not selfish reasons that I want to preserve ocean passenger boats. First I think the services make the public more interested in protecting everything associated with ocean by giving them a connection to the ocean. Second I feel affordable experiences provide an equal opportunity for all people to develop a respect and caring attitude of the ocean and all it has to offer all of us. Lastly I believe we all benefit when an experience is afforded to all within reason. By not making an experience feasible for people I feel more are affected negatively than the benefits. I urge you to consider the above statements when considering the proposed regulations. Thank you, John T. Richter |
