I am 47 years old. Born and raised on the coast of Southern
California. I grew up going to the beach, surfing and fishing. I
have been Whale Watching and Fishing on the Whale Watching boats
and fishing on the Sportfishing boats all along the California
Coast from Santa Barbara down to San Diego. Fishing is not like
what it used to be and it is getting harder and tougher for the
Whale Watching and Sportfishing boats to survive. Especially with
what the world is going through with Covid 19.

The new regulations proposed by the California Air Resources Board
(CARB) in regards to the engine and emission control regulations
will be costly and for the most part technically infeasible. Whale
Watching and Sportfishing boats should be the least of the CARB's
concern. What about commercial fishing boats, shipping cargo boats
(can produce the same amount of pollution as 50 million cars) and
the worst, run offs from land ! ! ! Why doesn't the CARB deal with
these enormous polluters first.

Whale Watching and Sportfishing boats should be the least of CARB's
concern when it comes to Ocean pollution. What about offshore
drilling. We just had 126,000 gallons of crude oil spill into our
waters off the shore of Huntington Beach, CA ! What about this.
Offshore drilling for oil should never have happened in first place
if CARB is concerned about Ocean pollution. Can offshore drilling
guarantee 100% there will be no leaks or pollution ? Absolutely
not.

Please do not hurt the Whale Watching and Sportfishing industry
more than it is hurting right now. If you want them to change, what
about funding it and making it easy and feasible for the industry.
We can bail out Banks, lets bail out the Whale Watching and
Sportfishing industry then.

The impact of the Whale Watching and Sportfishing industry is
miniscule compared to what I have listed above. Why aren't you more
concerned about the major polluters and do something about that
first !
