| Comment | The proposed requirements to retrofit Diesel engines in offshore fishing boats will kill an industry with very little impact on air quality. These boats only run a small amount of time in the harbor or close to shore. Most of the operating hours are while they are miles out at sea. Sport fishing is an important tourist industry for California, effecting hotels, resultant and other industries. Making the San Diego fleet fish Mexican waters from Mexican ports, will not help CA air at all. |
