I appreciate very much this opportunity to comment on the proposed
amendments to the LCFS.

I believe that existing certification systems should be considered
as companies have invested heavily in setting up the administrative
infrastructure and compliance measures. Though such systems may
need to be modified to suit the LCFS, it will not be nearly as
expensive as an additional certification system. As the overriding
objective is to promote the use of LCF, the avoidance of
incremental costs will go a long way to help the industry be as
competitive as possible.
Apart from cost, the use of existing, proven certification systems
can help prevent double counting of the same material.
