California has lead the nation in response to both global warming
and preservation of air quality. 
We need to continue to stand up to forces that want to preserve
the statua quo for their own agrandisement. There is no particular
real reason to hesitate to do what it takes to improve our quality
of life which is after all one of the central values of California
living. 
We currently lead the nation also in poor air quality and a good
deal of this is created by the lack of controls on heavy equipment
and diesel fume generation. I have long felt that these tools
should be run on natural gas or other non-polluting energy as are
city buses and trash trucks. 
It only makes good sense.
