Please strengthen state air standards to reduce air pollution from
construction equipment using diesel fuel.  Construction equipment
is the second largest source of diesel pollution in the state, and
the particulate matter is a particularly dangerous kind of
pollution, and may even contribute to heart disease when absorbed
into the blood stream from the lungs, where it can damage
arteries.  Children are especially vulnerable, so the downstream
costs of this pollution is only seen years later in the form of
higher health-care costs.
