Dear ARB,

Congratulations on your mandate to help California cut carbon
emissions.  I am delighted that you will be setting policy
standards not only for our fine state, but setting an example to
the rest of the U.S.  

I am writing today to ask you to please consider the adoption of
proposed regulation for in-use off-road diesel vehicles, such as
construction equipment.  These vehicles need to be regulated more
strictly as they are the second largest source of diesel pollution
in the state - and contributing a large amount of NOx and
particulate matter.  These are the elements of smog, which
contributes to high asthma rates and severe strain on our health
care system.  

The proposed regulation will help to cut back on smog in
California and to prevent the 4000 premature deaths associated
with this pollution.  Please support this regulation and help make
California an environmental leader.
