I have asthma and allergies.  As such, air quality is not a
theoretical concern for me.  It is a real concern affecting my
daily health, well-being, and productivity.  

As such, I am writing to you to ask you to please adopt the most
prudent and health conserving regulations for in-use off-road
diesel vehicles in California.  This will help me and others
maintain our personal health - but also that of the environment
more generally.

And please make sure that whatever regulations you put in place
that they are well supported enough to be enforced regularly and
with confidence.

Again, to protect the general health of our state, it is
imperative that the state strengthen state air standards and
reduce air pollution from construction equipment or what you all
call "In-Use Off-Road Diesel Vehicles."

Doing so will continue California's role as a leader on
environmental issues.  It will also help, hopefully, to turn
around and reduce what is the second largest source of diesel
pollution in the state - and what may be a crucial puzzle piece to
in escalating problems related to asthma attacks, reduced lung
function, bronchitis, and a host of other respiratory and
cardiovascular problems.

What is the benefit - decreased health care costs, increased
worker productivity (breathing helps!), improved quality of life,
and all the related economic benefits that go along with these
thigns for the California economy.

Again, pelase do what you an on this matter.  I follow air
pollution legislation with interest and look forward to seeing how
this is handled.

pollution from in-use off-road diesel vehicles through adoption of
proposed regulation of these vehicles.
