In the last two decades, California, and the rest of the world,
have faced unprecedented climate-
related disasters. Climate change will worsen every year if we
do not take action now, with
targets that are not too far in the future. With this said, why
is there not a 2040 carbon neutrality
option?
When it comes to clean energy, as stated in Pacific Northwest
ZeroEmitting Resources Study,
one natural gas plant still emits 15 times the concentration of
CO2 into the atmosphere. Building
more natural gas plants will hurt California’s economy and
environment. Rather than build more
plants, relicensing the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant will
be a better option for California's
energy, economy, and environment.
