Good afternoon. It distresses me to see legislation that
does not seem reasonable to me. Where is all the electricity
going to come from? Builing new nuclear power plants as old
ones are currently being decommissioned and remain toxic for
thousands of years? I am 100% against nuclear power. If
not nuclear power, then what? Electricity rates are
outrageous. Even roof-top solar on homes does not provide
100% of the electricity needed to run an active household --
especially in the warm, hot, and hotter areas of California.
Is California going to ban out-of-state travelers who use gas
powered vehicles? Is California going to further torture its
working citizens with unreasonable regulations and taxes?
Until California can show me -- a long-long resident -- that
it will guarantee reasonably priced, available electricity and
reasonably priced electric vehicles, I will not support this
legislation. I see this as a big of a disaster as the fast
train fiasco. Stop wasting money on big dreams and use it to
solve current crises -- homelessness, illegal immigration, failing
infrastructure (especially roads in rural areas). The price
of gasoline has sky-rocketed in the name of clean energy because
there is no via alternative for the majority of the
population. Work with the Federal government to reopen US
pipelines.
Get your heads out of the clouds and legislate reasonably abd
responsibly.
