The severity of the climate crisis and its impacts in our state
call for a more agressive climate action plan. The scoping plan
currently calls for investment into 10 GW of more natural gas
energy, but in a world where that action would only make climate
change worse, I urge you to revise the plan so the addition of
fossil fuels is not part of the solution. In addition, I think it's
a little ambitious for us to assume we can have 100 million tons of
direct carbon capture by 2045, I think investment could be more
suited for more proven technologies like tree planting or soil
regeneration. I even saw that in the UK they have a plan to spread
gravel on cropland so that when it rains, carbon from the air turns
into carbonate somehow Im not a biochemist but given the vast
agricultural land we have this would be a much more simple
alternative to direct capture.
I just really think that the plan needs to be accelerated and
revised, without fossil fuels and entirely made up of processes and
plans that are abmitious, but still feasible.
