I urge you to adopt a more ambitious
Draft 2022 Scoping Plan Update for our state to combat the most
catastrophic impacts of climate change in the crucial years ahead.
The Scoping Plan must accelerate a phase-out of oil and gas
extraction and oil refining; stop fossil fuel infrastructure
investment; eliminate or significantly reduce our reliance on
unproven and costly technologies to prolong polluting fuel sources;
pursue more robust transportation sector targets; and de-carbonize
buildings. The escalating climate crisis demands a more ambitious
Scoping Plan, one with the vision and conviction to provide the
solutions needed to overcome the crisis that we face.
