Our society has created a crisis and continues to ignore the
present and future consequences of our abuse of planet earth.
California must commit to reducing fossil fuel usage and reduce the
ability of the industry to continue business without severe
economic consequences. Economic consequences must be employed
as the industry has failed to demonstrate any concern for the harm
their produces do.
Also, as a society, we must invest in the development of more
efficient means of transportation and electrical power
generation. This activity will reduce our need for fossil
fuel infrastructure and reduce the development of global warming
gases. The reduction of global warming gases, will in time,
reduce temperatures and allow people of limited income to live with
greater comfort and less harmful pollution.
I urge CARB to take responsibility and provide a meaningful set
of specifications that will reduce the need and use of fossil
fuels. The most dangerous outcome would be to 'kick the can
down the road' and task future generations with attempting to
correct a disastrous situation.
