Hello,
My name is Henry Clare. I'm going to be a senior in high school
next year, and one would consider that to generally be the
beginning of the rest of my life, a life where I get to do what I
want, and live safely and freely to do so. However, I'm not so
sure.
Looking at the the current state our country is in, and the
relative inaction to mitigating the events of climate change is
incredibly disheartening. I've volunteered some time with
SanDiego350, a local climate advocacy group to try and make more of
a difference. They mentioned a new CARB plan that fails to
appropriately manage emissions in the future, and uses new
practices not fully researched on their effectiveness, and to leave
a comment to voice my opinion.
In a state that, from what I can tell, makes an effort to be
more forward-thinking, this is disappointing. Please alter
these plans to take a more bold stance on climate change, me
and the rest of the future generation need to know there are people
making an effort while they can, holding the torch in order to pass
it onto us in the future. Please be the torch-bearers for the time
being, thank you.
