I'm concerned about the slow pace of the US actions to slow and stop climate change. CA should be more aggressive to more quickly reach carbon neutrality, both because of the climate impact and the example it sets for all of the US and rest of the world. I don't have children but I want to leave a better environment for my fellow citizens and future generations. To that end, I installed home solar in 2004 (augmented in 2022), bought an EV in 2019, planted over 50 trees on my property since the late 1980s, support composting and have adopted a energy conservative lifestyle.

I am writing to urge you to improve the draft 2022 Scoping Plan Update. We need to make significant changes in transportation, energy, building and other major infrastructure to prevent an irreversible climate catastrophe. The targets for greenhouse gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels and carbon neutrality by 2045 need to be accelerated. Scientists are saying that this is the last decade to make changes that will have a significant impact to prevent climate catastrophe and I believe in science.

I urge you to improve the 2022 Scoping Plan Update.

Thank you for your consideration.
