Dear members of the board,
The current proposed scope plan does not do enough to reduce GHG
emissions. Building more natural gas plants is simply business as
usual. The same goes for adding carbon capture facilities. These
are not viable solutions, and won't help California meet its
emission reduction goals. Please focus more on renewable sources of
energy as part of the scope plan. We can't meet our climate goals
unless we ditch natural gas and embrace renewables. We can use our
remaining nuclear power plants to bridge the gap until we have
enough battery storage to store solar and wind energy.
Thank you for your consideration.
