I appreciate your work in creating a plan to reduce Califorina's
carbon emissions. But it needs to be much stronger and
faster. As you know, climate change is affecting all of us
and getting worse, particularly in CA where we're anticipating a
horrendous fire season. We need strong and immediate action
to reduce greenhouse gases, not plans that put all of the serious
reductions off somewhere into the future and rely on unproven
technologies to pull carbon out of the atmosphere. We need to
prioritize the health of our most vulnerable communites, communites
that have been suffering from air pollution from drilling and
refineries for years. We can save lives now and save money on
health costs by reducing fossil fuel extraction and processing now
not later--listen to your Environmental Justice Advisory
Council!. We also need to immediately prioritize deep
reductions in emessions of short-lived greenhouse gases, like
refrigerants and methane. California is a rich state and can
and should be a leader in the nation and the world in showing how
to respond to this crisis.
Thank you
