I
call on the
California Air Resources Board (CARB) to present a
plan to reduce and/or eliminate its consumption of crude oil,
especially oil from the Amazon. Currently, California consumes
nearly 50% of all oil exports from the Amazon globally--thats
insane! Further, we must commit to a policy that ensures that
California refineries are not sourcing crude from regions where
there are Indigenous rights violations or from regions where new
oil drilling in the Amazon is being planned
We also
must commit California to new fuel efficiency
standards that expands electrification of fleets so that we
avoid the need for any fossil fuels, especially those coming from
the Amazon!
