I echo all the comments that push for us to be carbon neutral
closer to 2035-- however I know that this is easier said then done,
so I will pivot to changes that are more targeted, but could very
well push us to carbon neutrality much quicker! - Do not
include the building of 10 GW of Natural Gas Power-- I understand
we need more power, but NO MORE FOSSIL FUELS. This should be
accounted for with Solar and other renewables
- On that note, push for Natural Gas and Oil Extraction to be
done by 2035-- not 2045!
- Push for 100 % of new appliances to be electric by 2035, not
80%. Don't worry, california is ready for electric
appliances.
- Do not bank so much of carbon
capture technology (direct air capture). You goal of 100 MMT by
2045 is very optimistic for a technology we only do 0.01 MMT of
right now! Use proven technologies like tree-planting, composting,
and soil regeneration to remove carbon out of the
atmosphere.
Thanks so much for you work on the so far. The scoping plan is
an impressive, optimisitic plan for our future. The time and stakes
simply call for it to be a bit more aggressive and
all-encompassing.
