I’m the
Operations Manager for the City of Riverside, Regional Water
Quality Control Plant.
Over the past
10-15 years, the City’s wastewater treatment plant has
extensive experience operating and maintaining Fuel Cells,
experiencing both major troubles and short-term positives. While
Fuel Cells can play a role in the beneficial use of biogas, their
high costs and limited long-term viability are still up for
discussion.
With
that, I support CASA’s stance on this issue and ask this
board to direct staff to work with wastewater sector to identify
and maintain long-term pathways for non-fossil fuel biogas use and
to incorporate these pathways into the Scoping Plan
Update.
