Dear California Air Resources Board,
Hello, my name is Aran O'Sullivan, I am a seventeen year old
student from San Mateo. As a member of the "next generation," I am
also a highly concerned citizen in regards to climate change. The
future of our world is at stake, the futures of myself and other
young people. While I appreciate CARB's initiative in enacting a
Scoping Plan to set goals and targets for climate action, I fear
that the proposed plan as is is simply not strong enough. We have
to do everything we can to mitigate this crisis, even if it means
passing somewhat unpopular legislation. Now is not the time to be
cautious or ease into reform. That time has passed. Now is the time
to fully commit and implement the strongest, most ambitious targets
possible. Again, I am very appreciative of the board's efforts and
willingness to enact change, but I ask that CARB revise their
Scoping Plan to include stronger climate goals.
